About Me

Who am I?

I’m just a guy who thinks computers are cool. That’s pretty much it, you can skip the rest if you want. I like to code, read, lift, and do a few other things sprinkled in between. I’m a:

Who is this site for?

Me.

Over the last year I’ve felt a strong urge to start writing. In my academic career I’ve always had classes which involved writing. These opportunities dwindled as I got into more specialized CS classes and open-ended papers were replaced with stuffy project reports. I felt like I was lacking the creative outlet writing papers for humanities classes used to provide, but had more things than ever I wanted to talk about. Specifically, topics in computer science.

Over the last two years I’ve become deeply interested in computer science. I had never programmed prior to university, but determined pretty quickly once I got to UVM I liked it a lot. Although I enjoyed programming, it wasn’t until the Summer of 2023 when I really started getting into it (a blog post for another day). As I continue to work on more projects and build experience, I’ve craved an outlet to share my thoughts. After watching many YouTube videos of the Primeagen reading developer blog posts I was bit by the proverbial bug and made this site.

This site is my little dimly lit cave in the internet to share my thoughts and experiences with whoever stops by to listen. There is no plan or schedule to what I’ll write about, but expect to see things like:

My Research + Projects

I’m currently involved in a research project with UVM CIROH developing low-cost sensor systems for real-time precipitation monitoring in remote environments. As a part of this, I am developing wireless sensor network protocols and topologies.

A few of my most memorable projects:

Interests

I have at least a passing interest in almost everything I’ve every done in the domain of computer science. A not so short list of things I find neat:

Wrapping Up

If you’ve gotten this far, you have my thanks for sticking around to the end. This is far from the most interesting or revolutionary of blog posts, but I felt like it was necessary to talk a bit about this site and my intentions with it.

Cheers!
